  • There is something beautiful and evocative about this site. No, it's not Riveaulx or Jervaulx, it is much more humble than those. What it does have though, is a greater sense of the personal lives of ...  more »

  • Not a lot off it but worth a visit. A nice site with a history to tell. Friendly staff. Part of site is accessed through uneven steps in places, some internal steps don't have handrails. A lovely place none the less. There is a picnic site outside the enterence. Some fabulous stonework on the gatehouse.
  • So remote. All that was left intact after Henry had his way with the abbey. Brick built, interesting passages to explore. Two floors in main build now in place.
  • Explore the narrow corridors upstairs, go up the winding stone stairs to the banquet room, great views from the top.
  • Fantastic place to take kids, staff friendly. A trip into the past.
  • Great property, good for an hours exploration
