  • The family went yesterday. It was absolutely stunning. Beautiful landscape. Only bad side is it's hard to see the whole house unless you have a drone.  more »
  • I definitely recommend taking the walk out to see the White Horse at Uffington. We parked at the official National Trust car park and were given very helpful directions by the NT lady on site of where...  more »
  • I came here in May but as I arrived it started bucketing with rain so there was no point in venturing out onto the hill. I was back in the area in early July and saw this on a lovely clear sunny day. ...  more »

  • Nice car park. There are problems with the free parking system if you are an English Heritage member. Basically the EH card doesn't work with the ticket machine so you can only get a free parking ticket if there are National Trust staff around which isn't often from my experience.
  • Car park is for accessing White Horse Hill and walking to the fort and horse. Operated by Natural Trust and is pay and display. For your money you get to leave your car and that's it. No toilets, no security. There is usually an ice cream van here in the warmer months serving warm coffee in addition to the usual cold stuff. A great place to come for a walk and the views but remember to bring some change. A couple of quid for a few hours if I remember. NT members free if they display a badge.
  • Good car park close location don't mind paying as the money are going to English Heritage 🌹
  • Used to be free. Now £4 (except at times when somebody has stolen the ticket machine). There are free laybys at the various Ridgeway road crossings if you are prepared to walk a few miles, none of them suitable for large numbers of vehicles, but a reward for the few whose idea of a fun visit to Whitehorse Hill includes some physical exertion rather than ambling the short distance from the car park.
  • An easy place to park with a nice walk to the White Horse. There was plenty of space and the fact that it was free meant that it was easy to enjoy the walk without worrying about time restrictions.
