  • Very nice excuse to leave London for a day. Beautiful windows, great scenery around. We enjoyed walking along surrounding footpaths all the way back to Tonbridge. We enjoyed it greatly!  more »
  • Tucked away down a country lane is an amazing little church with all its windows executed by Marc Chagall, an impressionist painter originating from Russia. Wonderful story attached to the windows...  more »
  • The most amazing stained glass windows made by Marc Chagall ... The booklets available in the church explaining the windows in detail were very useful and we would have missed a few of the subtle details in the windows if not for the booklet. Dog friendly and Plenty of parking next to the church with public footpath accross the fields behind the church for a distant view ... very pleasant visit
  • Pretty little church with parking and benches outside. There is a suggested £2 donation for visiting the church. Both inside and outside are calm and quiet with few visitors. Marc Chagall’s stained glass windows are beautiful. They make this place special.
  • Stunning. I used to live a few miles from this church and didn't know much about the Chagall windows. Shameful, as most were installed in my lifetime. On my recent visit, I had the good luck of perfect sunlight through them. Beautiful, fixating art.
  • How much can you expect to see of an international artist in a parochial parish church? The answer is quite a lot, particularly for England. Every window is by Marc Chagall, the last being installed in the 1980. The altar resurrection is particularly moving as it also features the girl who drowned (it was paid for by the parents) and she is present forever in the watery depths beneath the cross. The windows are split into three themes: creation, death and new life (inc the altar window), and hope and joy. The latter is golden toned, the other windows in Chagall's trademark blue.
  • Beautiful church with gorgeous stained glass windows in peaceful setting
