Jersey Zoo, Trinity

4.6
#1 of 39 in Outdoors in Jersey
See over 100 species of animals at Jersey Zoo, a conservation center with a focus on rare and endangered creatures. The zoo's 13 hectares (32 acres) feature landscaped parkland, water gardens, and native habitat areas in a more natural setting than many zoos offer. Stroll through exhibits dedicated to Asian birds, rain forest creatures, reptiles and amphibians, gorillas, orangutans, lemurs, and more. Add an animal encounter to your visit to spend 30 minutes with an animal of your choice in an area that other visitors can't access. Or, sign up as "keeper for a day" to assist a zookeeper for an entire working day. Make sure you book these special experiences in advance, because they fill up quickly. If you want to spend more time in the environs, camp for the night in one of the zoo's well-appointed glamping pods. • Having heard so much about this famous zoo and the fine work of Gerald Durrell we felt somewhat underwhelmed by our first visit to the zoo. The best areas were undoubtedly the Orang Utangs and the Gor...  more »
  • A zoo resolutely... human. We feel that the goal is not here to show a maximum number of species but rather public awareness of the danger facing many animals. A right nice place

  • A must do for anyone visiting Jersey. A very well laid out park with plenty of view points to see all the animals. The keeper talks are all worth getting to and give the opportunity to see some of the animals being fed. The dodo cafe has a great selection of food at reasonable prices.
  • An amazing zoo - which places the animals at the heart of what it does. All the enclosures are well designed and you enjoy an element of searching for the animals, being rewarded for your patience. The cafe is great and so is the coffee! It's easily the best attraction in Jersey, we come every time we visit the island.
  • No trip to Jersey would be complete without a visit to Durrell Wildlife Park. An amazing man that has done so much for conservation over the years. A well laid out zoo with plenty of exhibits and interest for all ages.
  • An amazing place - This is one of the world's best zoos that was begun by writer & naturalist Gerald Durrell. It is filled with endangered species, and it's main focus is on environmental conservation. As a former trainee at the Jersey Zoo, I am continuing the legacy by promoting awareness of climate engineering.
  • Yurt's at Durrell Wildlife Park, fabulous. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Shame we only stayed for a weekend. Nice and quite and restful apart from some noisy animals, which for us made the whole experience more enjoyable - sleeping in the jungle, without any risks! Highly recommended as is the Zoo. Park Rangers could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
