  • After playing and eating at a number of ten pin bowling establishments in Cornwall, it was great to discover Country Skittles which not only offered a traditional game of skittles (9 pins or skittles rather than 10) but also serves super food off a varied menu. The fact that Doombar beer was also served added even greater delight which is how skittles should be played, with a beer! The choice of entertainment was varied including board games and even a shooting alley. If you are looking for an evening out and want to keep the kids entertained Country Skittles is a must with special skittle alley rates applying for multple numbers. WiFi is also avaliable if the kids cant be tempted by Monopoly, Scrabble or Nine Mens Morris.
  • Great family fun day - great for a meal, traditional board games and as well as shooting range, skittles, pool and games machines - and plenty of room - something for everyone...
  • My girlfriend and I enjoyed an evening at Country Skittles recently, but I feel the need to mention a couple of caveats that are not obvious from the other reviews on here. Country Skittles is a nice but expensive evening out. My experience there was unfortunately left tainted by some of the prices which I felt were excessive or unjustified. A few points to bear in mind if you are thinking of going: When booking a game of skittles you pay for the lane, not per person. Depending on the size of your group this could be a good thing or a bad thing. At the time of writing, 1 lane for 30 minutes costs £12.50. I have to add that is was very fun even though the lanes are old and slightly dilapidated. If you are eating a meal, you can have your food cooked for you while you play so it is ready by the time you finish. There is an entrance fee of 75p per person (50p for under 14's) to Country Skittles, regardless of whether you booked a table or not! Remember this if you are planning a birthday party or big group event. The mini shooting range costs £1.75 for 8 pellets which is pretty disgraceful considering a tin of 200 costs £5 from any hobby shop. The air rifles and pistols are old and worn and the experience is definitely not worth the money. All in all we had a decent evening but felt compelled to stay there as long as we could and make use of most of the facilities to justify the cost. The food is fair and the staff are friendly, but I couldn't help but feel like we were being squeezed for every penny we had! Our bill came to £45 which included 2 meals, 2 drinks and a game of skittles. The other games we played were paid for in cash so be prepared to spend a lot if you are coming for a whole evening!
  • Great night out. Great food as well
