Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay

(4.4/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web)
Babbacombe Model Village is England in miniature. Over 400 models make up the village on over 1.6 hectares (4 acres) of rolling English pastures; it is entirely fictional, but famous English landmarks, such as Stonehenge, inspire many of the sites there. Puns are the wit of choice here, and you'll see no shortage of them in the business names, such as Terry Bull Gardening Service. Tom Dobbins created this miniature marvel, which includes an iconic English castle, windmills, and people. • Great models and can see the effort made on the attraction but you get around each exhibit quite quickly. Before you know it you are finished. I can't see how that's worth the entry fee and even if yo...  more »
  • My kids are 7 and 9, we have done a few model villages in our time and I must admit I wasn't relishing another one. I must confess that I did enjoy the trip and there has been a real effort made to ma...  more »

  • Amazing!!! Fabulous time for the whole family. Attention to detail is very high with the models. There is just so much to look at and take in. The children loved the new superhero mansion. 4d cinema is good value. The grounds are also beautifully kept. Turns into another world at dusk when the illuminations are turned on. Worth many repeat visits. Can't wait to return at Christmas!!
  • Visited here at Easter time, had a lovely time with my 3 year old looking for the Easter Eggs hidden around the place. Lots of funny things to look out for and it is very well maintained. Mini golf was a fun extra and the well known characters were fun to look at and spot. My only complaint would be the quite high entry cost for a place that you can get round easily in 1-2hrs and also having to pay for parking as the car park is a local council one. Well worth a visit if you have the cash!
  • It's a very nice place. Lot of little thing, to understand the local architecture and the old architecture. The gardens are perfect and the fire is really. I enjoy a lot. Also the shop is interesting to buy some present. Highly recommended.
  • Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Great effort goes into the models, with some interesting names. Fun for all the family with my personal favourite being "Wombley Stadium".
  • Amazing breath taking place to visit. The detail in all the models is fantastic my favourite is the real fire breathing dragon.well done to all the staff you have a gem of place here
