Categories: Theme Parks, Water & Amusement Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web
Babbacombe Model Village is England in miniature. Over 400 models make up the village on over 1.6 hectares (4 acres) of rolling English pastures; it is entirely fictional, but famous English landmarks, such as Stonehenge, inspire many of the sites there. Puns are the wit of choice here, and you'll see no shortage of them in the business names, such as Terry Bull Gardening Service. Tom Dobbins created this miniature marvel, which includes an iconic English castle, windmills, and people. • I visited here while the Rhino Conservation exhibit was in place so at the entrance you are given a tick sheet to find the mini rhinos placed throughout the exhibit - I won't lie this is probably aime...  read more »
  • Not expensive and well worth a visit, really interesting and because my wife is small it made her feel like a giant for a few hours , I would think children would love it for the same reason
  • Always an improvement on the last visit. Fabulous attraction. We spent nearly three hours there on a weekday. Lots to look at. Thursday nights they light up the attraction. Having been once you get a ...  read more »
  • The model village is full of surprises! Every time we have visited, usually with the grandchildren, we have always spotted something new. The models are interesting and fun with some humorous names on shops, buildings and signs. The kids especially enjoy the Christmas Grotto , which is so much better than your average Christmas offering elsewhere. Don't forget to take advantage of the free visit to go back and see the model village lit up in the evening. This is one of those great value for money attractions that you won't mind visiting more than once.
  • As a child model villages were always very tackey and disappointing. This place is amazing. The amount of detail is amazing working TV"s in the house's (old smartphone) the amount of thought and work gone into this place is fantastic. Adults and kids will love this place, worth every penny. Even a fire breathing dragon in the castle. Fantastic staff too.
  • Wasnt expecting much to be honest but was very very pleasantly surprised. Despite the rain it was much better and bigger than we had expected with lots of fun things to look for as well. Really clean and well kept. Kids loved the mini golf and the boats. Took loads of photos and 2 hours flew by! I hadn't expected it to be as steep to walk round as I hadn't done any investigating before hand but was fine with my push chair and my mother in law managed to walk round fine- lots of hand rails! All three of my children (age 2,6 and 12) enjoyed it and we will be back 😀
  • Hadn't visit since I was a kid, enchanted by the miniature scenes. Still enchanting now, and great value
  • Fab place. Only thing I didn't like was time of 4d cinema showing in relation to entering the model village. I felt we had to rush a bit so we didn't miss the show. But still 5 stars!
