For free you can wander the grounds and climb the motte. For a charge you can enter the gate house and have a self guided tour. There are also council offices here, which is strange, but helpful.
A lovely surprise on a recent walk around the town, the moated castle remains are very pretty and a great step into history, you can have a tour and learn more about the site and there's a tourist information centre and government Gateway office too. You can sit on the grass in the summer, enjoy the historical view and find a bench for a rest, climb the hill and look out over the river, a nice piece of history.
A little bit of under appreciated history in the middle of Tonbridge and very attractive on a sunny spring day when the daffodils are out.
