  • This place is amazing! We ventured in on the recommendation of a friend and began perusing the vast swathes of whiskies & gin. The young bumpkins we are, the selection of gin meant more to us than the...  more »

  • The place is an institution in itself, among other things. with the world's largest whisky bottle. In addition, they would like very much to share out their knowledge of whisky, as our son listened to with giant ears. Since, he has commented on this many times

  • Wasn't expecting much more than a tourist trap, but I was pleasantly surprised. We did not have any appreciation for whisky prior- but the enthusiasm and knowledge of the lady (brunette, name forgotten) put us on the right track to discovering how someone could. We had been to distilleries though out Scotland- many of these were tourist mills. Whisky Castle really took the time to let us sample a few whiskies, see a rare old whisky, and learn to appreciate part of Scotland's heritage. Visited in late Sept. Highly recommend a stop if in the area.
  • Visited back in September 2015. Was staying not too far from the location and visited multiple times, each a rewarding experience. Put The Whisky Shop on your itinerary and you won't be disappointed. Bought a 22 year old sherry finished bottle that was the best on our two week trip. PS: The pub just down the street on the town square had the very best ham and split pea soup we ever had.
  • Great whiskies, nice and knowledgeable people. Learnt New things and bought a very nice whisky. 😁
  • Fantastic selection and very knowledgeable and friendly staff
  • We love our Scotch, and touring around this region was fantastic, then we went to the Whisky Castle. The happy shop keeper (one for you, one for him) will challenge all you knew about whisky. He will introduce you to single barrel, non caramelised beautiful whisky. We bit the bullet and purchase a very expensive bottle which sadly broke on the journey back to Australia. Can't wait to go back.
