  • We visited on a very wet day and we thought the museum would be very busy but it was not over full. The museum gives a comprehensive account of the life of the vet and the stories of James Herriot...  more »

  • Wanted to come here for a long time. It was as good as I expected, lots to look at and read. Two films to watch and a room with activities for children. Nice Yorkshire vet display, loved seeing Mrs Green's dress. Definitely recommend this place, especially on a rainy day as it's all inside.
  • A good visitor attraction for a couple of hours. Updated recently. A good place to go to see and hear about a wonderful person. One thing to note if you're taking children and they do the walk round quiz, don't bother, they don't even get a sticker for their trouble.
  • Absolutely awesome. So much brought to life from the books into the shows. Loved seeing Peter and Julian... the Greens. So much to see and learn. Thank you
  • Very interesting and lots to do. No boring. We spent 3 hours there and could have stayed longer.
  • I couldn't understand how this little museum could get such a high rating.... Until I visited! Jim Wight was an amazing man and the museum is a wonderful mixture of the story if his life, work, veterinary history and a social record of English life in day gone by... It's also not as small as it looks from the road with extensive buildings stretching out the back. A delightful museum and well worth a visit. Highly recommended!
