#6 of 21 in Historic Sites in Pembrokeshire
Historic Site Tourist Spot
A 15th-century residence for a trader and his family, Tudor Merchant's House originally had a shop on the first floor and private rooms on the next two. Today, you can tour the house and admire the period furnishings and wall hangings. Check out the working kitchen and brush up on your dining manners (remember to share your plate and cup with someone next to you). Children can try their hand at old strategy games and yoyos, or read the scrolls to discover superstitions from past eras. • Interesting piece of history in the middle of busy Tenby. Entry is free with National Trust otherwise is around 5 pounds. The lady working there was very knowledgeable and helpful.  more »
  • Second time we have visited. The best thing was the National Trust guide who gave us a great insight into Tenbys medieval architecture.  more »

  • Lovely place. While it may only be a very small NT property, it is still a great place to visit - plenty to do, very friendly and helpful Staff/Volunteers, and very interesting to see how they used to live. We spent about an hour and a half there, a lot of which playing some of the old, Tudor games - especially Nine Men's Morris!
  • Brilliant visit to the house last week with 8 friends. Loved all the information and stories. Thank you in particular to Viv, Alex and Isla for making our visit so memorable. Thoroughly recommend for all ages.
  • Almost everything can be touched and used. The staff were very engaging. Almost didn't need the info sheet given out. Interesting to see how people lived back in tudor times. Don't forget to pop out into the garden.
  • Really good experience, lots of information on house given by staff. Enjoyed visit and learned about life in Tenby for a merchant in Tenby.
