  • Not all of our history is centred around London, York or 1066, Mercia was a kingdom too and Tamworth has one of the largest and oldest churches in the Midlands, dating back around 1200 years. Open to ...  more »
  • A beautiful church and a lovely place to visit the day we went the spire was open and while it was a heck of a climb it was well worth it
  • We took our friends from Germany into the church for a guided tour. Well worth a visit lovely inside and tour guide is very knowledgeable

  • Visited the double spiral staircase on one of the few open days. Really interesting.
  • Great church with plenty of history. If you get chance to climb the dual-spiral stair case on one of the open days it's well worth the effort to see the views and visit the bell tower
  • Site of church for over 1,200 years, with double spiral staircase in the tower which can be visited on open days. Impressive large vaulted interior with medieval fragments of stained glass in the vestry east window and a giant sized marble sculpture beneath the tower. The church is open every weekday from 10am to 3pm, together with Saturday mornings. Tea, coffee and bookshop inside. Friendly staff and toilets in the vault.
  • Very beatiful.
