Trip Planner:   Europe  /  UK  /  England  /  Staffordshire  /  Tamworth  /  SnowDome
The first full-size recreational indoor ski slope in the UK, SnowDome opened in May 1994. The venue offers a multitude of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating, swimming, and a fully equipped gymnasium. Measuring 170 m (560 ft) by 30 m (98 ft), the slope declines at a 14.3 percent grade. For novices, a beginner's slope sits underneath the main slope. Skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and protective headgear are included with the price of admission, but feel free to bring your own equipment. Take a break and relax with a drink and a snack in the bar or cafe. Make sure you bring warm clothing and gloves for skiing and snowboarding. • Absolutely brilliant family day out can't see why people write negative reviews. Fun packed day for a great price. I couldn't ice skate and was holding on to the side for life . But one of the team took his time to show me after a while I was off ice skating for the first time. Brilliant day fantastic staff . Thank you snow dome. Grandchildren still asleep tired them out
  • Can't beat a session on the snow. Eldest daughter's second ski lesson. Watched from the open air in the cold balcony with a Starbucks coffee and breakfast sandwich! Good snow, excellent facilities, great staff across the venue. Highly recommended
  • Set in a lovely location next to a lake. Have only ever used the tobogganing here but it was well run. Just a short walk away you have the park and castle. In the summer you could make a full fun day out by using this location as your base as of the time of writing this review parking was £1.50 for the whole day.
  • Used the swimming baths for the first time. Very helpful staff, the lady on reception and also the poolside staff. The place looks a little dated, and could do with a little T.L.C....Would appear that the schools have priority for the baby pool, which restricts the public. I think there should be lesson times displayed so the public can decide when to attend. I must add at this stage that I am not against the schools using the pool, it's pleasing to know the children are getting the swimming lessons they need.
  • Loved our first visit here and the snow was actually pretty good. The instructors looked after our first time skier brilliantly and got her right to the top and snowploughing all the way down with confidence. Many thanks is to all the staff there and we'll see you again soon.
