The first full-size recreational indoor ski slope in the UK, SnowDome opened in May 1994. The venue offers a multitude of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating, swimming, and a fully equipped gymnasium. Measuring 170 m (560 ft) by 30 m (98 ft), the slope declines at a 14.3 percent grade. For novices, a beginner's slope sits underneath the main slope. Skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and protective headgear are included with the price of admission, but feel free to bring your own equipment. Take a break and relax with a drink and a snack in the bar or cafe. Make sure you bring warm clothing and gloves for skiing and snowboarding. • Had such a blast with all my family tobogganing on Sunday. Even though it was busy on the night (we had a time slot for 7.05) we had plenty of turns that filled up the half an hour time slot. As a big...  more »

  • I wanted to learn how to snowboard and what a great day i had. Craig our instructor was amazing, very easy to understand and very patient, he made the hole day go smoothly couldn't of asked for more. I feel confident that i can go back on my own now and being to improve on what he has shown me. I would recommend anyone to go and try this and its a bonus if you get Craig as a tutor.
  • Went there for an outing for my sons birthday. We chose to to tobogganing. We booked the tickets online and went the following week. There was a safety briefing beforehand which relived my fears, especially when taking a child with special needs. You watch a video and then you are off. They don't offer helmets but was told that you could ask for them if wanted. The toboggans fit two people and a child sits between your legs. You go up an escalator to the top and then sit on the toboggan and your off. It's quite fast and stopping can sometimes be a problem as I had problems reaching the handles with a child sat between my legs. The main thing was that we had fun. It was a great time out but could have been longer as you only have half an hour.
  • Great place for the family to visit. They have recently added a climbing centre in the reception area, which at £10 for about an hour was really good value. The staff are very friendly and high in safety. As a family we especially enjoyed the tobogganing and also the swimming with the inflatables. We ate in the restaurant, which served a reasonable selection of meals at an average price. In all, highly recommended!
  • Recently visited for a 3 hour evening recreational skiing session for myself and the rest of my family have been having ski lessons over a couple of Sunday sessions. Staff have always been polite and professional. Snow has been fine while we have been there. No complaints at all from us! We'll definitely be back to do some recreational sessions soon.
  • If you're a beginner you need to go when it's quiet. When it's busy it's not enjoyable unless you are already a competent skier/snowboarder as you get too many people cutting you up and there's not enough space to practice slow controlled turns. During the week when it's quieter though it is an excellent place to learn
