4.5/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Lydiard Park is the ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke. The Palladian house, Walled Garden, formal parkland and surrounding pasture are the striking remains of a great country estate, which reached its peak in the 18th century.

Inside Lydiard House, you can wander through the elegant State Rooms, where ornate plasterwork and original family furnishings are displayed alongside portraits of the St John family, who lived here from Elizabethan times. The Walled Garden is a rare example of a Georgian ornamental fruit and flower garden with seasonal displays of beautiful flowers, fruit trees and topiary.

  • A great place to come with family. There's a lovely atmosphere to sit in the open spaces and watch people have BBQs. The play parks are really good too and there are benches to sit on around the ponds. Parking charges have recently been introduced for non-blue badge holders, so it's worth checking out the prices before you set off.
  • Great place and something for everyone! *Amazing kids play area to keep them entertained for ages *Fields to play your own ball games or simply relax *BBQ's for hire *Walled Garden to wonder around with cafe *High Wire adventure *Beautiful house *Great park to walk around with lots of routes *Lake with amazing wild life *Free and free parking (although that may change in late 2016) Great place to walk the dog! Well worth a visit!
  • A stones throw from home. Walk the dogs here every day as so many routes and can avoid the park, cafe busy areas and also avoid bad owners lol. As can detour in many different directions. Beautiful, peaceful and acres of land. Great facilities I.e toilets. Parks, disabled park etc
  • We went to the conference centre part of Lydiard house today for a friend's wedding and I have to say I have never come across a barmaid more unsuited to the job as the one that was serving today, she was surly, rude and plain ignorant, also the bar was totally unprepared for the wedding party, to start with there was no ice and no lemon or lime for drinks, the pint of Stella I ordered was totally flat I complained to the barmaid who grunted then threw it down the sink, I asked for a bottle of cider to replace it, then she gave me a bottle of corona, what great service!!! Can I suggest that Lydiard move her onto backroom duties and replace her with barstaff who know what they're doing, kind of spoiled the night
  • Really nice grounds, take your time walking around to see something interesting, sometimes you get a hot air balloon lift off here
