  • It IS a ruin! OK, don't expect much cover! That said, it's a really lovely ruin! It's not the romantic, covered in Ivy sort, it was all cleared away! It's amazing though to see how much was crammed in...  more »
  • We were staying quite close by so decided to take a look, we walked to the castle. Upon arriving we were greeted by a really nice lady in the shop. The cost of £3.50 each we felt for the entrance fee ...  more »
  • Recently visited and found the castle interesting and a nice place to wander around giving an insight into the past

  • Amazing little place. Might be out of the way but we'll worth it. Ok, so it's just a shell (except 1 wing) but use your imagination! It's best seen from round the back, really gives an impression of scale. Staff lovely!
  • Good place to have a look around. Limited information so an imagination is key. Nice to see active preservation of the building and surrounding landscape. Activities for kids in the main building and somewhere to buy gifts too.
  • Nice place to look around but won't take too long as there is not that much to keep you there. Interesting but limited.
  • Lovely place not much to do
  • Great castle! But it is on private land and in a bad state! The land owners are very nice and will let you have a look around, just google "penrice estate". You can also hire the land for wedding's.
