  • We weren't sure about the charge to stroll along the pier but it was not much and it's an interesting structure, not least because of the hundreds of brass plaques set into the wooden floor planks com...  more »

  • Interesting place to see, great architecture, history and a fantastic view. But too expensive for my opinion.

  • My first dive was in Swanage bay my second was under and around the pier, in 1971 and bought my first set of fins from Divers Down. I've since had many a great holiday and dive weekend's over the years, and often divert from Cornwall to Essex, I would call in even for SA few hours just to make sure it was not just a dream!! My last visit to the pier was in July 2016.on my way home from Cornwall. Had dinner in the Black Swan and home at midnight. Skipper Terry B X
  • A lovely way to enter Swanage disembarking the City Cruises boat from Poole. Lots of personal commemoration brass plaques set in the boardwalk by which private people can contribute to the upkeep of the pier.
  • A wonderful place to take in the majesty of Swanage bay and an unusual pier because there is land around three sides. A great programme of activities and a number of very interesting visitors during the summer season.
  • Lovely pier, and the staff are fantastic.. except for the pier master! - What a total prick! An ex Met copper who uses phrases like " It is a condition of entry to the pier you obey all commands instructed by the pier master" Which incidentally isnt noted on the entrance or website! Personally if he slipped off the end of the pier I would chuck him a breeze block rather than a life ring! - Wind your neck in, realise it is the public paying your wages and be more civiil, or simply bugger off back to London as we dont need your sort here!
  • Great Pier well worth a walk if in swanage
