  • Great place to take children. You can have picnic on the grass outside, let them run around & let off steam and then enjoy visiting the Lighthouse.  more »

  • Well preserved lighthouse with striking red and white banding. Interesting machinery and living quarters carefully preserved. Cafe which sells a limited selection of food in none school holiday week days. Good freshly prepared. Seems generally accessible for wheelchair users (ground floor). Climb to the light can be challenging with a final steep ladder section. Great views. Marsden Rocks and the Lead nearby. A variety of bird life: Linnets, Kittiwakes, Cormorant, Skylarks seen on Spring day.
  • Very interesting place to visit. The first purpose built electrically powered lighthouse. Weather wasn't the best when we visited, so we didn't visit The Lease. We went up the lighthouse tower, (not for the infirm), although they do try to assist everyone. Went into the café, but didn't buy anything, as it is very expensive. £2.50 for a sausage roll.
  • Lighthouse with small examination, you can go to the top, has a good gift shop and tearoom. The coastal walk takes in good views. Goes towards South sheilds
  • Nice place, well worth a visit. Being able to rotate the huge lenses with bare hands is shocking 😀. Beware of the fog horn when walking closer to the shore - it is right deafening.
  • Brilliant place lots to see, great views from coast. Lighthouse very interesting. Definitely worth visiting
