  • Interesting park here, lots of walks and a great kids play area, lots of parking at the bottom of the park where there is an ornamental lake sometimes with model boats to watch.
  • This is a good place for a quiet stroll and some fresh air. Unfortunately there is a bit of vandalism, recently a swan was shot whilst sitting on its nest, terrible. However, that aside it is a pleasa...  read more »
  • great place to take in the peace and quite, great open space and good for walking the dog and there is a cafe on site for nice cuppa and piece of cake
  • Built on the site of the former Herrington coal mine, this massive public park hosts many community events. There's lakes, wildlife, children's playground, a skateboard park, and great for walking. Overlooked by Penshaw Monument, which is also good for walking up with views over the whole area for miles and miles. A great FREE day out.
  • This is a great local park with lots of different features scatted around. There is a skateboard area, grass amphitheatre, large boat pond, nature pond, three different walks and a viewpoint with fixed metal sights arranged on a circle with a description of which remote landmark it is focussed on. There is always lots going on on the park and part of Sunderland live is hosted here. If you're into walking there are 3 different size routes to take ranging from 1km -3km
  • Surely Sunderland council's only triumph. Great park for walking the dog and getting some fresh air. Ample parking, small cafe, kids play area, small wooded area and lots of fields. I visit almost every day.
  • Beautiful dog walks and nice little woods for a ramble. Toilets were filthy but the rest is great.
  • This is a great park. Well worth coming to! It's even better for runners and joggers, although be careful for the weather.
