Old Trafford, Stretford

#1 of 15 in Things to do in Stretford
Manchester United, one of the most popular soccer clubs in the world, makes its home at Old Trafford stadium. Constructed in 1920 with a capacity of almost 80,000, the stadium holds the title of second largest soccer stadium in England. While match tickets can be quite expensive, booking online in advance will help ensure the best price. To get a sense of the history of Old Trafford and a look behind the scenes at otherwise off-limit areas, like the players’ changing rooms, take a stadium tour and visit the state-of-the-art interactive museum. Due to the club's fame, book your tour in advance. For an extra-special experience, take a "Unique Tour," where you cruise to the stadium on a canal barge before taking part in the regular stadium tour. Stop by the megastore before leaving to pick up a jersey and other team souvenirs. • I visited the stadium with a tour from a very knowledgeable and friendly member of staff. Enjoyed learning so much about the stadium. A big but well maintained clean stadium. Very impressed. Would lov...  more »
  • Huge experience visiting the theatre of dreams, seat of the legendary Manchester United. Amazing Golf, festive atmosphere, great victory at the expense of Liverpool, what more can one ask. Imaginary Museum of the group that travels in the past.

  • It is a very nice cricket ground, also used for gigs and other performances. Local transport is available just from outside the stadium so handy/easy to get to and get back from if you don't want to drive. Facilities are great too. Got to sit in the pavilion area for the first time and it was a great experience. Food was really good and at very reasonable price.
  • The theatre of dreams. I got tickets in the home end to watch my team play here. Came in the early nineties, and it's a lot bigger now than then. Love or hate the team, it is one of the nicer stadiums in the country. The toilets put our home stadium to shame, there was no trouble, and the Stretford end was noisy. Beer and pie was good. View was from the nose bleeds, but decent. Just a shame we didn't win..
  • This stadium is epic. Big fan . Having flown in from South Africa to visit though, I was disappointed at the rush during a stadium tour and key photos opportunities also being rushed. The scheduling between tour groups is too tight. They should definitely spread the times out more. The standards though are very high and its easy to recognise why this football club is one of the biggest in the world.
  • The amazing Theater of Dreams. The playground of Manchester United football team. It great experience if you are a fan of the club or just the game. You'll see a lot of backstage, dressing rooms, press lounge and the players entrance. Totally worth the visit. If you lucky you'll be guided by Dave S. So enjoy your time.
  • You can't get better than a tour of Manchester United Football ⚽ Club and the museum. Ample parking and a great store. All staff are very professional and customer centric. A Great Day Out For The Family 👪
