Relive the early days of Tudor England at Tudor World, an interactive museum. Located in the hometown of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon, the museum provides a rare look into many aspects of Tudor life and the history of the town. Explore the outdoor Elizabethan theater, or take a lantern-lit ghost tour of the historic building. For a more eclectic experience, take a tour through the town with a very knowledgeable Shakespeare impersonator as your guide. Stop and have a beer in the historic town center at one of the local pubs. To visit Tudor World on your trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, use our Stratford-upon-Avon tour planner.

  • This place was a pleasant surprise. A lovingly-made museum containing waxworks and reconstructions from the Tudor period. Very well thought out, and lots of hands-on things, such as a chainmail helmet you can try on, or a Tudor bed you can try out for comfort.
  • From the moment we were greeted at the ticket desk, 'til the moment we left this was informative, interesting and characterful. Great ambience. Even though I learnt a lot about this era at school (some 30 years ago) , sometimes it takes props to make it sink in. Learnt plenty of dad facts today B-)
  • Last week's Shakespeare tour by Kingsley ( although he says his name is 'Will' and refuses to leave character!) was great fun and offered lots of insight into Stratford and Shakespeare plus his heritage. At one point, Will offered to show us his favourite drinking spot and was about to lead us into a door that was all walled up...until he realised that he had been 'barred' from that one. Despite the weather, we were very well entertained and when we reached the chapel and he spun a story and quote from the bard, at that moment, fate struck the church tower with lightning! Felt like we were on stage!
  • Great place to add to a day out in Stratford
