Where to stay in Stratford-upon-Avon

Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, has a wealth of hotels, guesthouses, country inns, and self-catering apartments. For big-name hotels, look no farther than the historical town center, where most of the area's big attractions are located. Stratford is also famous for its range of comfortable B&Bs, conveniently located in and around this compact town. If you're looking for something a little closer to nature and prefer the open air, consider exploring family-run hostels and working farms in the nearby countryside.

  • Very interesting tour, I personally preferred to visit Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall rather than his house as you'll find a lot of useful information about Shakespeare's childhood years and how schools functioned in those times. The short films you are presented here are well done and provide insight to Shakespeare's intellectual upbringing.
  • Fascinating and less well-known of the sights. Super information shard by experts on the subject, often ex pupils makes for a very personalised and passionate tour. Leave enough time for their detailed explanations. (At least 80 minutes) Excellent!
  • It was nice having a Latin lesson and write in old style. You can also dress yourself with vintage clothes and take pictures where Shakespeare was supposed to be.
  • Brilliant and really interesting staff are knowledgeable and very helpful brilliant with children and are keen to impart their knowledge
  • Brilliant place to visit. The volunteer guides are really approachable and make the visit informative and fun without giving too much information which suits both adults and children. Lots of things for the younger visitors to try in the classroom. When we arrived we were told the entry fee was payable when you leave and you can pay whatever you felt the visit was worth. Fantastic place, to which I can strongly recommend a visit.
