Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Gardens, Stratford-upon-Avon

4.4
#1 of 41 in Parks in Warwickshire
Set among extensive gardens, Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Gardens is located only 1.6 km (1 mi) from Shakespeare's birthplace. The house was passed down through the Hathaway family until 1846, but the family still lived there as tenants in 1892 when the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust acquired the property. Inside you'll see spacious rooms that have been redecorated to resemble what they may have looked like during the life of Anne Hathaway, William Shakespeare's wife. In the gardens, you'll find modern sculptures depicting Anne and Shakespeare's sad story. Save money by buying your tickets in a package that includes entry to all the Shakespeare sites in the area. Wear good walking shoes and consider walking between each site to enjoy the surrounding countryside.
