  • I qualified at Stoney Cove as an Open Water Diver in February 1995 and have fond memories of my visits, even though it was cold!! Well 22 years later I was here again for a few weekends whilst my son ...  more »
  • Had a private party here with a friends band playing and a buffet provided. Food was ok but no more than that. Looks really offputting from the outside but once in it is ok.  more »

  • As well as diving, it's a great place for swimming too. Great views of the stone quarry walls. The shop, while primarily being for diving, is also useful for swimmers selling such things as tow floats, and gloves and booties. Being 35m deep at the deepest bit, it doesn't warm up as quickly as other locations. But, the water is clear and fresh. Watch out for Mr Goose however.
  • Awesome place to spend a day diving! Park up, have a peruse in their shop that has a large range of items, before prepping for your dive have a full English breakfast in the on site pub (while watching others dive on the balcony). Then your onto the best bit..... the diving! I am relatively new to this site but I had the chance to see something rare.... a guy diving with a vintage 90 year old ex-navy helmet with airline to the surface! It just showed how far technology we use has come along since then! Some of the best preserved wrecks I've seen, including timbers from an Edwardian ship!
  • I go to Stoney Cove to scuba dive. You can hire all equipment for a fee (of course) and the staff have always been friendly and patient when I can't find a dry suit with small enough neck seal. The bar on site is reasonably priced and always has a friendly atmosphere after a day of diving.
  • Fantastic place to learn to dive, with helpful, personable and highly qualified instructors.
  • Ok place to practice. Various depths and visibility can be really poor or really good..... But usually it's quite poor. Disorganised queuing for car park if you arrive early. Small main car park soon fills up. Need more wrecks. No kit ting up areas. Don't allow solo diving. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Also a great response on the rescue boat by the staff. Large shop, although they lack more of the technical type of kit.
