  • So we booked through Groupon because I thought it was a lot of money for a family of four. We went on a Sunday at 10am. When we got there it was already not very clean, bearing in mind they open at 10...  read more »
  • We nearly didn't go after reading all the reviews, especially regarding the car parking. I'm glad we ignored all the negative reviews and gave it a chance. We took four children (3,6,6,7 years old) and they have a great time, and so did we. The place definitely needs a bit of refurbishment, though. I certainly didn't see anything that looked 'dangerous', just tired and worn - none of which stopped us enjoying the rides. I've been a few times and the only time we've regretted going was when it was rammed. You would be queuing for easily over 30 minutes for a ride. However, on normal days the queues are quite reasonable and don't detract from the fun. The way they handle car parking is a bit odd - just pay a bit more than you need (we're talking 50p or a pound) and you'll be confident that you won't get a parking ticket, although I can imagine it would leave a very bad taste in the mouth if you got a ticket after paying what you thought was the correct amount.
  • I visited with my wife and a friend as we were looking for a waterpark or similar in the Stoke / Alton Towers area. The reviews online are hit and miss but after purchasing our tickets from Groupon for £7 we turned up and headed in. Overall we had a great time, the rides were not always running as I assume in quiet periods they man a few at a time but this wasn't an issue. The place is tired in parts, but not everywhere can be brand new. The changing rooms were fine, only a couple of the showers were usable and the 'body dryers' looked like they were 20+ years old. Overall not bad for the money!
  • Dirty, crowded, dated and expensive We chose a bank holiday to go to Waterworld, so we knew it was going to be busy.. but the amount of dirt floating around in the pool both inside and out was absolutely disgusting, there were far too many people in the pools to get enjoyment from it as you cannot move without a child swimming into you. Changing rooms are dirty and dated and the showers just trickled water by the time we got out, it is evident that there are many storage rooms I felt like I wanted to leave before id even got in.
  • I loved it there! The lines moved super quick, went on all the rides and the food was amazing, however, the showers need to have walls as I felt uncomfortable showering in front of others, also not enough rides! I went on all the rides and went on them all again (three times!) After that, it just became boring, so I went in the rapids and had a blast! Nearly never went because of all the reviews, but I'm so happy I gave it a chance! Staff were very helpful but some weren't, it's especially fun when it's not over crowded! The worst part about this was how crowded it was, I hope they add a limit! The best part was riding Nucleus, my favourite ride overall! I recommend going, don't let the bad reviews stop you!
  • It is such a shame waterworld has deteriorated to the point of being unfit for purpose but it isn't really surprising as the main structure of the building is now very old and dated there's only so much patching up and repainting you can do and metal and plastic deteriorate and rust it's not because the place is being neglected it's just age!a lot of the complaints and bad reviews are a bit jump on the wagon and written by adults who notice little things like paint peeling cracked tiles rusting etc and also idiot s that ain't even been and just enjoy being's actually extremely difficult and sometimes impossible to paint over rusting metal, but if you come here and actually witness how much the kids love playing in the water surely it's time for a total refit? bring waterworld back to the modern exciting experience it was back in 89 call it new waterworld and start again and I will come and be your customer experience manager and get rid of this negative band wagon riding reviews for you mo.
