  • Really enjoyable day out. Great to be able to see so many monkeys roaming around freely. Not expensive to visit either- free car park and cafe prices not too bad either (as expected for these places). Staff are really friendly too and want to talk to you about the monkeys and will answer any questions you have. Good place for kids too. Would definitely recommend visiting here.
  • A great few hours walking around the woods and with the bonus of having monkeys there as well. The monkeys were great and they just ignored everybody and got on with there daily routine. The kids loved them and if you like taking photos the monkeys love to pose. Well worth a visit.
  • This is a very fun and cute place for the family, monkeys free to roam (they do all seem rather passive and tired and just “happy” to be watched while they just sit about). Nice to be so close an not have a fence or glass around. Kids love it. Small but enjoyable enough (walk it slowly in about 30 minutes). The cafe can be incredibly busy, expect -at peak times- to wait and queue for at least thirty minutes to place your order. Nice play area for the kids to enjoy too. Not a full day out. But it’s worth a visit.
  • Pretty unique experience for the region. Always good for children to see animals in a 'wildlife' setting living as far as possible on their own terms and the conservation work humans can do. Be aware it's not a petting zoo. I'd normally mark as 4 ✳ based on the price and duration of time spent but the charge also supports work to preserve this species. 5* excellent.
  • Trenthan Monkey Forest is on the whole not a badly price family day out. I do suggest that you take a picnic with you that way you can pretty much spend the whole day there. It is the home to 140 free-ranging Barbary macaques which are now endangered and you walk along the 3/4 of a mile pathway seeing them live as they would in the wild. The keepers also do talks while feeding the monkeys a few times a day. Once through the admission gates the Cafe/restaurant, toilets, gift shop and small play area are found on your right hand side. To your left is the picnic bench area and straight ahead is the Monkey enclosure which you can visit as many times as you want. Good comfortable footwear is suggested and it's pram and wheelchair friendly, but be warned that the path has a few challenging slopes.
