  • Rob Roy was an interesting person. So this place is built of his honour. Very historic place. I am happy that Scotland is doing everything to protect historical places.
  • We visited this attraction in January on a foggy day and was a good thing to do. It's a couple of miles from the main road on a small twisty lane but worth a trip. There's some information about rob r...  more »
  • Look for the one with the low iron box around it, raised about 1/2 foot. He, his wife, and his son are all interred here. Be sure to go inside the church to see the Stone of Angus as well!

  • Stopped here on my travels, such a peaceful place, paid my respects to Rob Roy and family buried here, and looked around the old church ruins and graves as well, just down the road is a great photo opportunity as well, the bridge that crosses the river, nice reflections and very surreal. All up a beautiful place and filled with history.
  • Well as this page and information relates to me and my family. I find it nice to be able to have look around and get a feel for the place. I have to say I've not seen many places more beautiful. When I have the chance I will visit in person and given the opportunity I could see myself living in this most idyllic of spots.
  • Wonderful photo opportunities throughout the graveyard.
  • Small country cemetery where it rests, among others, one of the heroes of Scotland. Must see for the site, for nature and for the atmosphere! Also worth a visit is the small church which stands alongside and offering remarkable architectural ideas.

  • Probably, most people know the story of Rob Roy of the eponymous film. It's worth but to engage more closely with the historical template for the movie: Rob Roy MacGregor. His grave in the cemetery of Balqhidder is really not a tourist attraction, but if one is on the verge, interested in history breathe even the whiff of history. Scenic worth seeing is also the directions on small single track roads.
