  • Castle Cornet was walking distance from the port, if you're on a cruise no need for an excursion. This Castle was very unique in that they had mini-modern museums within the fortress. We were walking ...  more »

  • Wonderful place. Went to Start Peters to spend a day and ended up being in the castle and museums for so long that we couldn't see much of the town before having to catch the bus. Would recommend. Easy 3 hours of interesting history......just be prepared to do a lot of reading.
  • Fabulous experience, but you must take the guided tour at 10.30 to get the best of the place; the re-enactment at 12.15 was excellent too. Block your ears for the noon-day gun -- it's loud! The "Castle Story" just outside the ticket office is also well worth a visit -- looks initially as though it might be dry but it is well laid out and interesting -- it has separate notes for the youngsters too, and quiz booklets to keep them interested. Very good overall -- spent several hours there.
  • I really enjoyed to visit this place. Gorgeous and interesting castle with a wonderful view of landscapes around. I warmly recommend to stop by if you visit Guernesey. Hey, do not miss the midday canon shot, it is amazing. The museums inside are also very interesting.
  • Most interesting grounds guided tours... Keith is a terrific guide and he kept us captivated for one hour... Highly recommended...
  • Very good place to look around and enjoy the scenery. It has a unique historical fact, the last Royalist strong hold during the Civil War to fall. If you're visiting Guernsey worth going in. The function facilities on the other hand need modernising.
