  • This the Dover Patrol monument is impressive, such an obelisk on a high cliff, with other traces of such war of the bunkers and craters. A nice place to enjoy views of Calais, England (when there is no fog)

  • A lovely place, to see the memorial, the channel and the surrounding countryside. Perfect for walking, with or without dogs.
  • Interesting because of its history but I would not have made a special journey for this. We were walking the cliff pathway between Dover and Deal so had to pass by. Sadly the Blue Bird tearooms were c...  more »

  • From St Margarets Village sign, follow the road to the left for approx 20 mins (if walking) , it becomes quite rough, with many potholes so care is required if driving - but the walk is beautiful and the views all around the coast are quite simply stunning. A very worthy spot for this Memorial. A Book of Remembrance listing nearly the names of 2,000 war dead from the Dover Patrol is held at St Margaret's Church, near the monument. A Coastguard Station was erected nearby, and a radar station during the Second World War.
  • Great spot, was looking forward to the tearooms but unfortunately closed for renovations. Still worth the visit.
  • The road to the memorial is very poor and full of deep potholes ( a bit like our public roads are becoming) and parking is limited at weekends and public holidays. Well worth the trip though, there are great walks all around here, which is National Trust property - be wary of the CLIFF EDGE ! The cafe has good reviews if you need refreshment. The other Dover Patrol Memorial at Cap Blanc Nez in France can be viewed on clear days if you know where to look and there is a third one at New York Harbour, USA.
  • Nice place. I`d recomend the trip to anyone.
