Porthminster Beach, St Ives

(4.6/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Porthminster Beach, crescent-shaped, sheltered, popular, and accessible by public transport, offers safe swimming, golden sand, and even palm trees. Look for the not-far-off Godrevy Lighthouse, grab a drink at the bar, and enjoy some quality people-watching. The calm blue-green water gives the beach a soothing, nearly tropical ambience. The Porthminster Beach cafe is widely renowned for high-quality seaside dining. A visit to Porthminster Beach represents just the start of the adventure when you use our St Ives vacation planner to plot your vacation.

  • My family have been returning to this beach on holidays for the past 50 years. It is one of the most beautiful in Cornwall and close to the best hotel's and restaurants in the area.

  • Lovely beach. Filthy disgusting public toilets.
  • Amazing beach but if you must eat on the beach please beware of the seagulls. More cheek than Oliver Twist.
  • Beautiful beach, calm sea and a great beach side bar.
  • A great beach on a summer afternoon!
