  • Really excellent for a short or long visit. The visitor's centre is large and free with the history of the brewery and explanations of brewing. You also see the "small batch" brewery (3000 gallons). We did not take the additional, chargeable tour which goes around the main brewery. There is a nice pub with food (check limited hours), and a large shop for beer and brewerania
  • Tracy gave a really interesting tour and was knowledgeable about all the beers in the tasting! Was great to be able to try so many! She was happy to talk us through them all and help us choose some to take home and enjoy. The brewery tour itself was interesting with plenty of interactive things to illustrate the processes.
  • Spontaneous stop for a brewery tour, just in time for one to start. Much enjoyed the tour. The following tasting was great, lovely beers and great lunch afterward with some more beer. Highly recommended.
  • Excellent brewery experience from the shop, museum, tour, cafe. Well worth a visit and discount if you show your Camra card.
  • A very informative tour here, and the beer sampling afterwards isn't bad! If you're the designated driver, they offer to swap tokens for a bottle that you can take back home and try later!

Where to stay in St Austell

Unless you want to use St. Austell as a base for exploring the area, consider staying in the picturesque Charlestown or a nearby beach town that boasts better views. St. Austell doesn't offer much to visitors beyond its proximity to nearby attractions and day-trip destinations. If you choose to stay here, there are a few local accommodations, including independent apartment or room rentals. However, the best options are in the harbor area of Charlestown. If you would prefer to stay along the Cornish Riviera, head to Carlyon Bay, Duporth, or Porthpean.
