  • Great glass houses and an interesting butterfly exhibit open at moment. Price is very reasonable at £5.
  • Lovely garden, with extensive greenhouses in particular. £5 entry fee but well worth it. Small coffee shop on the way in, nice to sit outside it when the weather is nice!
  • Really loved these gardens, they have a good layout and a nice shop at the exit.
  • Lots of lovely plants and butterflies but tea shop very smal with very limited menu
  • This is the only Botanic Gardens that charge an entry fee. Glasgow and Edinburgh dont so why does this one? I could understand if you planning to visit the butterfly house.

Where to stay in St. Andrews

less expensive lodging and luxury rental apartments are located around the town center and the university buildings. Be sure to book accommodations overlooking the sea and St. Andrew Cathedral ruins early, because they fill up fast during the good weather months. Rental properties in the town center on narrow streets, such as Market Street, are within walking distance of the main architectural and cultural attractions. Save money by renting a room farther west of the town center. These are residential neighborhoods that are well-connected to the town center but offer quiet nights and inexpensive nightly rates.
