Where to stay in St. Andrews

less expensive lodging and luxury rental apartments are located around the town center and the university buildings. Be sure to book accommodations overlooking the sea and St. Andrew Cathedral ruins early, because they fill up fast during the good weather months. Rental properties in the town center on narrow streets, such as Market Street, are within walking distance of the main architectural and cultural attractions. Save money by renting a room farther west of the town center. These are residential neighborhoods that are well-connected to the town center but offer quiet nights and inexpensive nightly rates.

  • Ok course, however not what i expected. Course was not great, holes close to one another. We played in the pooring rain.  more »
  • Not much of a golf course. Very flat without a lot of character. Not bad for the price and to have a St Andrews experience.  more »
  • The New Course has teeth and is a really great layout. 9 holes out and 9 holes back in it offers you a great challenge. Beautifully laid out, in great condition and situates beside it's older brother ...  more »

  • Historic location Jigger Inn, dating back to the 1850s, next to the OldCourseHotel. Home-cooked Burgers are as excellent as told, as well as the 'Best Fish'n Chips in town'! Don' t mind windy conditions on the terrace, better enjoy views on the 17th, the iconic Road Hole! And, yes, the Inn ist open for everyone. Scottish pub hospitality at its very best!
  • The New Course is a classic Scottish links golf course designed by the grand old man of golf Old Tom Morris and opened in 1895. A joy to golf, it is a true test and should not be underestimated...FORE!
  • Fantastic links course. Very windy!!!
  • Very enjoyable course, easy walk between greens and tees. Wide fairways, if the wind does not blow and you can avoid the bunkers it offers a good chance to score low
  • Same atmosphere as old course. Tough test.
