St Albans Cathedral owns the honor of being Britain's oldest site of continuous Christian worship. Even if you aren't the religious type, the sheer beauty of the building alone is worth the visit. It boasts the longest nave of any cathedral in England, and at 84 m (276 ft) it is the second longest cathedral in the United Kingdom. Take part in a free guided tour to learn about the cathedral's history, architecture, and ministry. Tours begin at the west door and last an hour. If you have a limited schedule or prefer to learn the basics, a free highlights tour is faster. However, if you want to learn more about this historical site, the free "More to Explore" tour takes place on the first Sunday of each month.
