I thought I would be bored, but instead I was enchanted by the miniature characters and buildings and of course the trains going to and fro. Lots to photograph if you are into photography. Not just fo... more »
Lovely staff. The site is well maintained and well looked after. Its a lovely attraction to walk around and the family quiz is fun. I did notice a couple of things needed some re - painting but I wouldn't expect any less with how old it is and the fact it's all outside in all weathers. I thought the price was a little expensive but I was happy to pay it just to keep the place open as it adds great value to Southport.
To be honest I didn't expect the Grandchildren to enjoy this as much as they did! It's a good idea to read the activity sheets, provided when you pay, before setting off on your exploration. The questions made the grandchildren look carefully at the beautiful scenery in case they missed what they were looking for. We ended up going around three times, doing different elements of the activities. Friendly, helpful staff and an enjoyable place for families to visit.
This is a fantastic place for children and adult train enthusiasts alike. It is particularly good for me as my daughter has autism but loves everything to do with trains. She would literally spend hours here if we would let her. Highly recommended for something different to do in Southport.
I came here about a year ago. Was back in town with some other people and had time to spare so we went in here as we knew it was good. They were impressed as i was. We spent ages going round then made good use of the refreshments they sell and the toilets. Got to speek to the man behind it all. So interesting to hear how he created it and maintains it.
Lovely little place for young children who like trains. Very easy to find. Spent a good hour looking round and filling in quiz. Well laid out. Ice creams very reasonably priced.
