Ainsdale Beach, Southport
(3.6/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
A large, clean, sandy stretch of shoreline surrounded by small dunes, Ainsdale Beach is perfect for bathing, walks, beach sports, and sandcastle-building. Swimming here is very safe, with lifeguards on hand during the day. Facilities include portable restrooms and shops nearby selling burgers, ice cream, and buckets and shovels for kids. Take advantage of the paid parking lot, but be careful not to get stuck in the soft sand. The dog-friendly beach features plenty of large open spaces for your four-legged pal. • a walk on this beach is good for the soul as well getting rid of the cobwebs ---beautiful views follwed by a nice pint in the village make for a great couple of hours.
  • Good size beach just a shame it was so windy and cold. We managed to have some fun by building sandcastles and walking around. Really nice and clean beach.
  • Be surprised this beach from almost white sand in the northeast of England. Equal of surprising is it fast that goes up the water with the tide... I imagine that will be cold even in summer.
