Ainsdale Beach, Southport

(3.6/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
A large, clean, sandy stretch of shoreline surrounded by small dunes, Ainsdale Beach is perfect for bathing, walks, beach sports, and sandcastle-building. Swimming here is very safe, with lifeguards on hand during the day. Facilities include portable restrooms and shops nearby selling burgers, ice cream, and buckets and shovels for kids. Take advantage of the paid parking lot, but be careful not to get stuck in the soft sand. The dog-friendly beach features plenty of large open spaces for your four-legged pal.
