  • We went there for the England v South Africa Cricket on Saturday. Fantastic building & surroundings, the atmosphere was lightning. Parking etc was well controlled. We will be back.  more »

  • A great place to watch cricket matches. Getting in and parking was relatively easy, the bus service from the parking lots at the university was quite slow but fast enough to be bearable. A wide variety of food and drinks are available for reasonable prices, there is an entire area dedicated to kids' entertainment: there are bouncy castles, face painting, climbing walls and much more (all included with the ticket). The cricket is great and overall a wonderful day out with a little planning required. My only real disappointment was leaving the stadium, as it took at least half an hour to three quarters of an hour. We got there in the end however and once you go you definitely want to come back.
  • Great venue, great day out for the cricket. Bit pricey on the food and drink but it's event day pricing
  • A great modern cricket ground, home to Hampshire CC, plenty of facilities on match days and non-match days including conference, hotel, restaurants, golf course. Parking is available close by for all visitors to the ground and hotel/golf. Nearest train station is Hedge End and there is a local bus service that stops next to the ground.
  • Prices for beer and food have risen. £5 a pint and £5 for a small hot dog. Rather expensive day. Would recommend to eat before
  • Match was wonderful (England vs south Africa). What wasn't pleasant were the drunks seated behind us throwing insults throughout the match. They were drinking jugs of pimps, getting more vocal and rude as the match progressed. If we could have moved we would have. Spoiled what could have been an excellent day.

Accommodations in the city center are convenient, and a range of options is available. Alternatively, Ocean Village is a neighborhood close to the marina with hip pubs and restaurants. Hostels and B&Bs with affordable nightly rates populate Highfield and the neighborhoods that surround the university.
