  • We went to Drewton's tearooms for lunch today for my mum's 85th birthday. The staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent. They went above and beyond with my invalid mum and were very accommodating. Food was good (please drain poached eggs a little more before placing on muffins ;- ). Requested a candle for mum's desert. Five members of staff brought it to the table, with instruments in hand, and sang happy birthday to her. My mum was absolutely thrilled and sat grinning from ear to ear. Thank you for making it such a memorable day for her.
  • I took the mother in law for her 78th birthday. We booked a table for 6 for the afternoon tea menu. The price was reasonable compared to other restaurants (£25 per couple). However when the cake stand came I've never seen such a sorry state of food or lack of it. The 2 sandwiches that you could choose were miniscule and wet. The open beef sandwich (if there was beef in there) was a sloppy mess of mayonnaise. The scones were tiny and the sweets were sickly. To add insult to injury the bill was £78. We didn't complain because of my elderly mother in law but rest assured I will be writing in to them. Really dissatisfied and disappointed.
  • Pleasant ambiance with outdoor area. Upmarket feel although the food seemed fairly basic. A bit on the expensive side but I guess that's to be expected considering the surroundings.
  • 25 of us came here to celebrate my 60th birthday and to enjoy the speciality afternoon tea. The service, food and ambience was superb. The staff were brilliant and even played a little tune for me! All the ingredients are locally sourced and freshly prepared. The prices are reasonable given the calibre of the food. We have also enjoyed the speciality evenings too.
  • What a gem of a place. Fabulous location on a hillside overlooking the Wolds. Fabulous selection of products in the farm shop. A beautiful display of quality foods and meat from local butcher Laverack. Lovely dining areas both inside and out. Good variety of foods on the menu. Highly recommend the omelettes and rarebit. Superb for coffee or lunch.
