  • A friend recommended we visit here - and rightly so too. It was a showery day and we were grateful for the small restaurant for shelter. It really is somewhere for a light snack rather than a full blo...  more »
  • Lytes Cary is a lovely old Manor house built in the 15th century, replacing the original 13th century manor house. It's a comfortable home, not at all pretentious and has a peaceful and warm atmospher...  more »
  • Very nice place to visit very peaceful with lots to see and helpful guides in each room, the gardens are well looked after and the gardener is on hand with any queries. The cafe is the place to finish...  more »
  • Beautiful place and very knowledgeable staff. The house is stunning inside and out and the gardens are incredible. If you're in the area this has to go onto your to-do list!
  • We stopped here as we were near by and had 45 minutes to kill. This was not enough time to do the place justice. We visited the house which had quite a small number of rooms so it doesn't take long. Quite a few of the rooms did not have room guides. We only managed a small part of the garden so did not do this justice. There is a croquet lawn, and a lively garden with cloud hedges. Much of the outlying gardens are open to walkers without having to pay. There is an NT restaurant, again not tested by us.
  • Beautiful old Manor House with its own family chapel and very pretty gardens. National Trust. Also a good dog walking trail available. ...although dogs are not allowed in the house or gardens and should be kept on a lead for a lot of the walking trail due to livestock in the fields. Lovely cafe on site serving a scrummy cream tea! :)
  • Excellent visit. Very informative guides and good food in the restaurant. Service friendly and helpful. Only drawback was the road in and out. Single lane with few passing areas.
  • This is a beautiful house and Gardens possibly the most attractive and interesting houses that I have been on for a while. Well worth the visit.
