  • Worth the walk along the Esplanade and Jacobs Ladder beach. Wonderful views from the top. Gardens themselves are lovely in season. The cafe is closed to sit in but open for drinks/snacks takeaway.  more »
  • OK. Toilets were open. The gardens were OK. Was a hot day, we were tired and the dog's (and i) were disappointed they weren't allowed on the beach and the walk back up the hill was horrible. Wanted a....  more »

  • A little gem with stunning views of Sidmouth and the beaches to the east and west. Gardens are nicely planted and maintained with interesting little features throughout. Generous number of benches means you shouldn't have to much trouble finding a place to relax while you enjoy the views. Public toilets on site and a cafe on your way down to the beach on the western side. Allow at least 45 minutes to enjoy it but you could honestly spend hours if the weather is good and your mood is right. Parking across the road isn't too expensive and cheaper than the on street parking just up the hill.
  • Lovely gardens that are beautifully maintained. The views are amazing. There's plenty of places to sit and relax and there's different parts of the gardens including a sunken garden, greenhouse with lots of cacti, lovely grassy area as well as gorgeous beds of flowers, trees and shrubs. There are decent public toilets here too, and Clock Tower cafe, which is situated within the gardens, is worth a visit as well.
  • Lovely gardens, nicely layed out, great tea room and brilliant even concerts.
  • Very nice gardens with lots of little benches and hideouts. Beautiful flowers and a good restaurant.
  • Beautiful gardens, lots to see, cactus greenhouse, great views of the sea and promenade. Fun stage for the kids to play on. Large grassy area to run about. Clean public toilets, access to the beach. Lovely little cafe and access to Jacobs ladder
