"The best kept secret of the Darenth Valley". I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone! I've been there several times and it still draws me!
A little gem of a museum tucked away in the little village of Shoreham (Darenth Valley) Kent. . . . .a warm welcome awaits the visitor to what initially appears to be quite a small museum of Battle of Britain memorabilia , both British and German relics. A huge amount of things from pilots personal possessions which have been excavated from the spot where they fell to complete aircraft engines . . . a lot of links to the pilots who survived are there to see. . . you can even buy pictures autographed by some of those brave chaps! There's a very atmospheric little tearoom with very reasonably priced fare. Thought I'd only be there for less than an hour but ended up spending 2 hours there ! . . Well worth going to ! . . . . .the village itself is very quaint with several nice looking pubs.
I have been many times, highly recommended. Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable the museum is well laid out and many fascinating exhibits.Great cafe for a good old fashioned cup of tea and a very peaceful setting. Give it a look you will not be dissapointed
Really lovely tea shop with beautiful garden. The museum section basically two not too big room with lot of small airplane debris .... Without any thematic, just together. Hmmm. So I guess better if we don't call it museum. But nice place anyway with very pleasant hospitality.
Great place to go I've been a few times with friends even taken my 26 year old son what a great afternoon we had hearing two age gentlemen talking about there time in the RAF
