  • We have been going to the play arena for over two years. My daughter (who is 2 1/2) loves it. If keeps her and her little friends entertained. The staff are always polite and friendly. The food is lov...  read more »
  • I've been bringing my grandson here for years and I probably have as much fun as he does. Lots of space and variety of play areas. Excellent coffee and cakes - he loves the carrot cake! The cafe' does...  read more »
  • We recently went to The Play Arena with friends. I was disgusted that I also needed to pay for my son who is under 6 months old. I had to pay £1.95 which is a rip off considering the area for under 3'...  read more »
  • I'm very disappointed with the service that receive on a day that was suppose to be a good day for me and my children. On eid day I expected my children to have fun. I've enjoyed previous trips to play arena, but this trip has made me think twice about coming back. After being kicked out of one of the spare room whilst breat feeding, overhearing staff wispering 'kick them out the room' it was extremely unprofessional. Being told to move from one end to the other and the general negative attitude from the staff towards the paying customers. I have many family and friends who attend play arena so I'll make sure they all know about my experience. Very very disappointing
  • UPDATED REVIEW: 13TH JUNE 2016 Being child-led meant that my kids chose to return to play arena today and there were good and bad points that I want to add to my review from 9 months ago. The price is still high... really high! £13 for a 3 year old and a 6 year old!! ouch! We needed a pair of socks as we forgot some for my 6 year old which staff were more than happy to give us (and we got to keep them!) My 6 yo later got hot and took off her t-shirt so she was naked from the waist up. Staff asked if she could put her top on. After some discussion they were happy for her to remain top less as they knew my daughter and I understood the 'risks'. The downsides of the visit were being asked (just after we paid) if we had food or drink about our persons. I told them I did. They said we were allowed to have water but nothing else. Seemed a bit strict, especially as I had just given them £13 to get in! The other downside is 'The Octopus Paradox'. There is a separate play area for children 3 and under. the main feature is an inflatable octopus which my 3 yo wanted to go on. I lifted him on and played peek a boo with him as the octopus rotated. A person who works at play arena (the boss I assume but she didn't identify herself) very abruptly told me I wasn't allowed on the inflatable skirt that goes around the octopus "doesn't have a solid base". There is the floor which in my experience is a pretty solid base! I asked how my 3 yo was meant to get almost double his height onto a moving octopus to which I was told others manage it. Overall this was the final nail in the coffin for Play Arena. At this price I would expect much higher quality. As a result I will go to smaller soft play centres where it is cheaper and the customer service is better. I can highly recommend Play Time in Heeley as it offers real value for money, you can take your own food and drink and the customer service is much higher. ------------ Old review: Was very expensive to get in. We went first thing on a Saturday and we're one of the first in so when my kids nearly got covered in jelly which was on the second floor steps it was clear it had been there since at least the day before. My kids love the air powered ball launchers but if the 6 launchers 4 were completely broken and the remaining 2 only just worked. There was no attempt at creating an atmosphere either. some music or something would have been nice but there was nothing. It felt like being in a aircraft hanger. I'm fine paying premium prices for a premium product but that's not what we got when we visited.
  • I had my sons 2nd birthday party there and it was lovely. Some guests arrived late and we ordered lunch for us adults just before the party was up and they kindly let us stay and play for longer whilst we finished up eating. Very spacious and plenty to do, also appealing to any children's age group as there's so much going on. They also give a good offer for babies. I'm about to ring up and organise my other sons 4th birthday party there. I love going on a morning too when it's quiet. Some of the food could be cheaper, (e.g. A piece of fruit) but I feel will everything they offer, how big it is and the fact it's a business, it's worth it. Entry is a good price and the party prices are good. Everywhere else is offering similar prices or more expensive but don't have as much to offer.
  • Kids love it. But, a bit big, too busy, over priced, and lacking the care and attention of other soft play centres.
  • absolutely crap £180 for a party which was poorly managed, run by puppets .food over priced and need to speak bilingual too been to better places !
