  • Situated a couple of miles from Shap village via a pleasant walk (although you can drive there), the Abbey is situated next to a farm (which in years gone by, took over part of the old Abbey infirmary...  more »
  • Lovely ruined abbey some nice walks worth a quick visit and its free. Tgere is a small car park. Combine it with a trip to keld and go in the little chapel.

  • Free to look round. Short walk from parking area across a bridge and a grassed track. Unfortunately scaffolding was around the abbey. Next to river. No facilities. Check out the NT chapel in village of Shap nearby . Very unusual
  • Nice location, good info boards however is currently (September 2016) undergoing maintenance which was a bit of a disappointment. Free to enter and no facilities.
  • Very quiet place to relax. A stream of water runs just behind it.
  • Historic building which although in ruins, you can make our the walls and structure. Informative signs explaining where and what was there makes it easy to visualise.
  • It's now (sep'16) under renovation -- all you can see is scaffolding
