  • A stunning ruin in a superb location. Just stop soak up the atmosphere and listen to the silence - it's deafening!  more »
  • I visited on a lovely sunny blue sky day. Access to the Abbey is free. There is a car park on the right hand side of the road. You are instructed by signs not to drive over the car bridge immediately ...  more »

  • Free to look round. Short walk from parking area across a bridge and a grassed track. Unfortunately scaffolding was around the abbey. Next to river. No facilities. Check out the NT chapel in village of Shap nearby . Very unusual
  • Nice location, good info boards however is currently (September 2016) undergoing maintenance which was a bit of a disappointment. Free to enter and no facilities.
  • Very quiet place to relax. A stream of water runs just behind it.
  • Historic building which although in ruins, you can make our the walls and structure. Informative signs explaining where and what was there makes it easy to visualise.
  • It's now (sep'16) under renovation -- all you can see is scaffolding
