Puckpool Park, Seaview
(4.4/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
Puckpool is a small coastal settlement on the outskirts of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The area is best known for Puckpool Park, a park with an 18 hole putting green, 15 hole crazy golf, two tennis courts and three bowling greens. Puckpool Battery is located within the boundaries of the park; this is an old Palmerston Fort built in 1865.Puckpool Point features a natural sheltered bay offering a large expanse of sand and a gently sloping beach which becomes very popular with tourists and local residents during the summer season. A wide pedestrian and cycle promenade leading to Puckpool Point lines the entire bay. Until December 2009 Southern Vectis operated standard bus service 16 which served the area between Ryde and Bembridge via Seaview and St Helens. However, no route currently serves the park and the arrangements for summer 2010 are not known. The Ryde Road Train is also operated during the summer, designed to transport tourists from Ryde to the beach and park at Puckpool.

  • Puckpool park near a seaview is one of our favourite places to walk the dog. It is hear the beach, has a cafe, mini golf, lots of green grassy hillocks and a great history.
  • Stopped here to do some metal detecting at the nearby beach so didn't really explore this as much as what we could have done. There are gun/mortar emplacements at the park along with a cafe, play area...  more »

  • Really nice place, has a great park for the kids and the caffe is very good.
  • Great little cafe and play area inside the park, we found little hatch serving drinks near to the play area was overpriced and under stocked. When asked if they had cans of drinks, we were told yes... Red Bull and Coke! Could do with some other options for kids really, preferably non fizzy options too.
  • Amazing variety of quality homecooked food, extravagant selection of cool drinks including the Freakshakes and beautiful, well kept gardens to enjoy our food in. The staff were so genuine, helpful and polite. Definitely returning, must visit if you're on the island on holiday, keep the kids entertained with the golf, tennis and the park. Love it!
