I visited this place on a week day morning with my 2 year old son. It was quiet and we explored the whole area and had so much fun! Some areas are a bit dated, while some areas look brand new! We only... more »
My son and I visited here on a Tuesday afternoon. We only did the outside as we weren't interested in the soft play. I am not sure why they charge for adults or so much for adults but it is good value... more »
I do visit Jakes regularly so I can't be too critical. Staff are great. Friendly and polite and helpful. Food is as you'd expect but you don't go to soft play for a lavish meal. However, recent trip t... more »
Love Jakes! Fantastic indoor soft play area. The cafe has a great selection of food and healthy snacks. Outside is a petting farm, with a variety of farm animals and a gorgeous peacock! There is a new construction play area which is fantastic, suited for kids aged 3 to roughly 8. Keep an eye out for the fairy houses dotted around the outdoor area. Lovely pretty pond, boasting plenty of bird life. All rough great day for babies and kids! It has a lovely large parking area, and space is never a problem. Friendly and helpful staff.
Having paid the entrance fee to be told if you go outside first you will not be allowed into the soft play area afterwards, you must do that first. We found this very odd. It also means if you want to just do the outside things but want to eat there, you then have to go back inside to the restaurant next to soft play. Try telling a two year old that your not allowed to go on the soft play because of the backwards rules in place. On venturing outside, we found the whole area very dirty and covered in rubbish, even a considerate person let their child go to the toilet in one of the pieces of play equipment. As we went round we found that most of the rides were not switched on, we later found out that they are not switched on until 11. This was not clear anywhere. They also advertised a bouncy castle, for another additional cost, they didn't actually have a bouncy castle. But probably the most important issue we had on our visit was the poor and unsafe state of the facilities. Our little one walked straight up to exposed live plug sockets, luckily we stopped her. We had to complain, to which we were told that the sockets should be locked, bit late if we hadn't stopped her. On further inspection we found most of the sockets exposed accessible to any small child. Having been in the playground installation business for some time, this place is extremely unsafe. The use of domestic grade fittings and not following correct installation and safety guidelines shows a complete lack of compliance with health and safety and the safety of their customers. I would even go as far to say that if the park was inspected it would have trouble in passing and getting a safety certificate. I certainly will not be returning and will definitely not recommending this place to anyone, quite the opposite. It's appalling.
The perfect day out for my little one. The soft play is huge and has a great variety of activities. And the petting farm is an amazing addition, with everything from Alpacas to Peacocks.
Brilliant since the outside has had a revamp. My boys (6 & 3) love the Fire Engine, the Gold Panning and the Building site best. Plenty to do for a range of ages.
Great facilities and have done a lot of work recently on play areas. Kids love it and you can easily pass hours in the outside section. Cost are reasonable too.
