  • Beautiful landscape. Enjoyed walking around the estate. It was very tranquil & spring flowers blooming. Shame the house wasn't open (not till 1st April) I think this should be earlier; like the beginn...  more »
  • We enjoyed our visit to Audley End House. Often a mansion has a more uplifting feel or a sense of grandeur. This one was heavy, probably due to its time period. I wish my understanding of history were...  more »
  • My friend and I came here for a fun and cultural Sunday. We paid £12 each to get in and the house was closed to us. They did show us a virtual tour... that was definitely the same. Only the gardens an...  more »

  • A lovely visit today for the 'horses through the ages' event. Parking was a little confusing on arrival as it wasn't clearly sign posted due to extra parking being provided as it was an event day. Once we had finally arrived in the right place we were met by a stunning view of the house. The grounds were amazing and this was topped off by a stunning display of tulips in the formal garden, lovely trained apple trees in the kitchen garden...and a lovely waterfall! The stables buildings and the nursery in the main house provided a lot of interactive activities for children...and adults! I loved playing with the wooden cup and ball and was quite chuffed when I caught the ball before my son! The food was what you would expect from such a place and was reasonably priced. All in all a lovely day.
  • Worth a visit. Interesting house with long history. Helpful knowledgeable guides in all rooms. I really enjoyed the free guided tour of the Service Areas. Unique Coal Room (totally unexpected and not seen elsewhere). Display in stable block adds interest. Beautiful gardens (at right time of year) and extensive kitchen garden. Cafés rather limited and quality not, in my view, as good as National Trust.
  • Lovely place to visit especially on a sunny day. There are extensive grounds with beautiful gardens and inspiring views. Several cafes in the grounds serve nice tea and coffee, there is a little shop and a small children's play area. The house is also interesting to go around and there are often special events on in the grounds.
  • We have visited twice now and will go back again. It is a beautiful place to walk round, both inside and out. The guides in the house were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. There was lots to see and learn and even a tasting station in the shop. A great place to visit.
  • This is a great place for a family trip. The gardens are spectacular and well-kept, the home is beautiful and impressive, and the whole atmosphere takes you back in time. It's close enough to London to make an excuse, rent a car, and see what old England looks like. Very cool.
