  • As a family we really enjoyed visiting Quarr Abbey especially as the bank holiday weather was exceptional. The gardens and surrounding area was peaceful and relaxing. The cafe staff were friendly and efficient and there were shaded areas to sit and rest. We all liked seeing the pigs but were concerned for the mother pig with 5 piglets. She had an injured back trotter and was obviously in great pain, so much so that she was unable to feed the piglets without making crying noises which upset us all. It seemed that she was just left to get on with it and we couldn't find anyone to express our concerns to. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to visit the wonderful abbey and grounds without cost and to see the monks in prayer.
  • Beautiful grounds. Lovely and peaceful in the Abbey. Ideal for quiet reflection. Always on my agenda whilst on the Island and today was no exception. Great shop with a variety of books and an art display can also be found.
  • Very pleasant and relaxing surroundings that are dog friendly. Donations are appreciated as there is no formal charge for using the facilities. Unfortunately, the Medieval Abbey is not accessible and is viewed from behind a fence that’s about 100m away. It is a beautiful area though, and is well worth visiting. We were disappointed by the tea room which we found quite expensive and the food was not of very good quality either in content or presentation. Also, the outside seating area was in need of a clean. It seems to be largely ignored by the staff, with dirty tables, cutlery that had been dropped under the edge of the decking looked as though it had been left there for some time and even bowls of water left out for dogs were dirty. All in all, it is a very nice place to visit, but avoid the tea room.
  • Peaceful and tranquil, free to visit. Lovely woodland walks, old relics of the original Abbey, beautiful building , piggies, goods to buy from monks garden etc, rescued chicken eggs. Great Cafe for food & drinks.
  • Very tranquil and peaceful. Shame about the tea shop only got half a cup of hot chocolate and a small pot of" froth" to add to it. At £2.60 I was not pleased. Or warmed up shame. 2. Star for tea shop. Abbey top. Marks
