  • The building itself is Ok, but not dislike most buildings of its time. Inside we found the place to be very dusty and alot of the furniture was not correct to time period being portrayed. We got told off for touching the Knights armour, which has been around for many years and was built to defend against savage attacks, but apparently our finger prints are deadly to it. Maybe a sign saying "Please do not touch" would avoid the confusion. My daughter enjoyed the activity around the house, but overall it wasn't overly great.
  • Such a nice place. Inside is great, lots to see and friendly and helpful staff that know their stuff. The outside is just as nice with plenty of gardens to walk about. As members of National Trust we try to get there a few times a year.
  • Really nice grounds. Beautiful gardens Old house is stunning. Friendly staff
  • We were looking forward to our visit today for our anniversary, however it was completely spoilt by the staff members in the cafe. We arrived at lunch time and decided to eat first before exploring the Hall. After taking a seat in the tea room, we noticed that a number of the tables had not been cleared and there was a general feeling of gloom in the place. We encountered a complete lack of interest from the waiting staff and indeed after 10 minutes of sitting at a dirty table and being ignored by at least 2 members of staff we got up and left. I made a point of speaking with the female member of staff on the entrance kiosk and told her that we were disgusted at our treatment and she apologised. Fortunately we were able to visit the local Marina just around the corner and were delighted to have a lovely lunch and were served by friendly smiling waitresses who put the ones at Rufford Old Hall to shame.
  • Beautiful gardens!!
