  • Firstly the price - 19 quid for 3 adults.... I'd have expected more. However my 3 year old adored going up and down the stone steps of the castle... The views were good at all levels, definitely something to do when it's good weather.
  • Very unique castle ruins. Not proper roofed place but using your imagination you can enjoy this place. Kids love to run through narrow corridors and on top wall. Ideal views of Rochester surroundings, like Cathedral, tiver Medway and harbour, you can even see old submarine. Great photo shot place.
  • We were only visiting Rochester for a few hours so didn't have the time to climb the steps to visit the inside of the castle but what we saw of the outside made us think it would be worth a visit! It certainly looks magestic from the outside and still quite in tact. The grounds are lovely and green and look inviting for a summer picnic with a delightful view over the Medway!
  • Proper traditional looking castle engrained in our imaginations with steep walls and turrets and steeped in history including a really amazing story of why one of the corners has a round turret and the others are all square. Also there's Rochester town right next door which has a lovely high street and it's own history.
  • Lovely view of the river from the castle. The Rochester town was very pleasant as well with a mix of traditional and modern shops. Lovely restaurants as well
