Kearsney Abbey Gardens Reviews
Kearsney Abbey is generally a nice park area which is good to have a stroll around (it's not massively big) - there is a play area for children and large grassy areas which are ideal for picnics etc. ... more »

Fab place to take the family for a picnic on a sunny day or walk your dog. We take our two dogs here most evenings as they love the mix of long grass, streams and pathways. The park is split in two sections, one where dogs can be let off their leads for roaming and another where dogs should be kept on leads that is more family-picnic friendly. The latter is the side of the park that also includes the tea rooms and a kids play park. The local wildlife is allowed to roam freely in the park, meaning you often find yourself walking alongside ducks and swans. Fantastic place to spend a sunny afternoon or a balmy evening.
Lovely grounds with a small cafe on site. We only saw half of the grounds, but even though it was busy, it was somehow very peaceful as well. Great kids play area, but parking is a bit of a push on busy days. Take a picnic, try the stepping stones and escape for a while!
Lovely park with plenty of space for picnicking and children to play. Small enclosed play area for children. There is a pond with a few ducks, geese and swans, but unfortunately it's a shame it's overrun with seagulls. Cafe on site that provides light snacks. A nice day out!
Lovely day out with the family, with walks, parks, a lake and a river. We had a picnic and enjoyed a walk along the river where there were lots of families in the river with nets. We will definitely go back again with our fishing nets.
Great day out. Free parking but can get busy. So much space in Kearsney Abbey that is doesn't feel crowded even on the busiest if days. Good park for children and plenty of space for them to run around. Ideal location for a family picnic and even a designated BBQ area. The small shop serving food and selection of items such as fishing nets is open daily. Russel Gardens is just across the road and provides more stunning gardens and a smaller children's park. It is often quieter than Kearsney Abbey.

Where to stay in Dover
Boutique hotels and guesthouses are tucked among Victorian homes in the shadow of Dover Castle. Consider lodging next to the striking white cliffs of Dover with a view over the water. Cottages and inns farther inland give access to the surrounding countryside and offer comfortable accommodations at lower prices.
