Fab place to take the family for a picnic on a sunny day or walk your dog. We take our two dogs here most evenings as they love the mix of long grass, streams and pathways. The park is split in two sections, one where dogs can be let off their leads for roaming and another where dogs should be kept on leads that is more family-picnic friendly. The latter is the side of the park that also includes the tea rooms and a kids play park. The local wildlife is allowed to roam freely in the park, meaning you often find yourself walking alongside ducks and swans. Fantastic place to spend a sunny afternoon or a balmy evening.
Great day out. Free parking but can get busy. So much space in Kearsney Abbey that is doesn't feel crowded even on the busiest if days. Good park for children and plenty of space for them to run around. Ideal location for a family picnic and even a designated BBQ area. The small shop serving food and selection of items such as fishing nets is open daily. Russel Gardens is just across the road and provides more stunning gardens and a smaller children's park. It is often quieter than Kearsney Abbey.
Lovely sprawling green park with a tea room. There are some remnants of the abbey around. Little streams and waterways intersect the park, the main ornamental lake attracts the ducks and swans. In the summer you'll find children catching sticklebacks and the tea room sells nets and buckets. The play park is good, can get busy. Free parking and toilets available.
Lots to do to if you want to be outside with children.. playground, walking, space for football, picnicking.. Great day out, at no cost. Apart from an ice cream or coffee. If you have not taken a flask. Open space, pretty, clean. Can't say anything bad. Only wish it was nearer!
A very scenic place to be and a peaceful place too if you want it to be. I have visited Kearsney Abbey all of my life, ever since I was a young Boy with my Parents. I still can't get enough of the place. I often drive here for a peaceful half hour and have a cup of coffee from the Cafe, and look out across the Lake at the Swans and Geese and all the many different types of Trees. It's Beautiful here and always will be. You have to see it to believe it 😊
