Tour iconic planes and watch the bustle of Manchester Airport’s runway at The Runway Visitor Park. Explore inside the decommissioned RAF aircraft, Nimrod, and the supersonic airliner, Concorde. To see inside Concorde you must take a guided tour, which should be booked in advance to guarantee a place. Head to the raised viewing mounds with a 180-degree view over Manchester Airport airfield to watch aircrafts take off and land. There’s also a play area for children to enjoy. For a bite to eat, visit the onsite restaurant, which offers views of Concorde and the runways. Remember your day with a plane-themed souvenir from the onsite shop. Take a look at our Ringway route site to schedule your visit to The Runway Visitor Park and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

The Runway Visitor Park Reviews
We came here with our three year old before flying to Barcelona. We wanted him to get excited about flying and it worked! The main attraction is of course the proximity to the runway. You are very clo... more »
We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing with families and activity. We had drinks in the cafe and sat outside and watched all the planes landing. We also bought a few things in the on ... more »
It used to be a tradition of ours, before we went on holiday, to go to runway visitor park to see the aeroplanes. Won't be doing it again. Parking is £5 for up to 2 hours and £10 over 2 hours. Their w... more »
Very good viewing points to watch planes landing, taxiing and taking off. The planes come close to the fence and can see some of the pilots waving to everyone at the visitor park as they pass. Great place for photographers, aircraft enthusiasts and family days out. You can look around various aircraft such as Concorde at a cost. There is a cafe which is a little pricey but you can bring your own food and drink. You can park your car at the visitor centre for a charge but if you are walking, arriving by public transport or by bicycle there is no charge. A good day out especially during nice weather
Nice place (especially for aviation enthusiasts) to go and relax for an hour or two. There's a café, which is fairly expensive, but nothing to stop you bringing your own food and having a picnic in the car or on the outdoor benches! There are toilets, a small gift shop and a handful of museum aircraft standing nearby (Nimrod, Trident, DC10 cockpit etc), at least one of which will be open to go on board. There is a Concorde in it's own hangar, but I think that one costs a little extra to see.... Car parking is (in December 2016) £5 for up to two hours, or £10 for longer than 2 hours, per car which I thought was pretty reasonable. Foot passengers/cyclists are admitted free.
Such a great place to go for a cheap day out. You only have to pay for the car park which is £5 for under 2 hours. The view of the aeroplanes is fantastic and there are constant landings and take offs to watch. On the weekends a plane is open to go on board. You can have a tour of the concorde but if not you can still see it through the window. Lovely gift shop but very expensive.
Excellent for showing children about aviation and a great little fun play area too
I love this place I live up in Edinburgh and wish I had this in Edinburgh because it is the best not over priced for 4 hours or 5 for 2
