  • Shut November to March, no info advertised on the out side. It is King Edward 1st, 13th century castle began in 1277. Opens daily April – October, 10am – 5pm. You can clearly see the ruins from outsid...  more »

  • Excellent example of a Welsh castle. Well worth a visit if you like your historic landmarks.
  • I love a good castle ruin and this is a great castle ruin. Reasonably priced entry but only a small car park. A fantastic example of a great medieval castle.
  • We visit a lot of castles and this one was great. Very friendly staff at the gatehouse. We spent a couple of hours walking around, good modern metal stairs on top of the old sandstone so great access.
  • Great value castle, not as big as other Edward the first castles but great location and views
  • They have some great events here, so watch out for some info on special days where you csn learn to build a trebouchet or make a rag rug.
